Don't ask me why, but all of my previous blog posts have seemingly disappeared! Guess that means that it's time for me to start anew.
Things have been beyond messed up for almost a year now, and I really haven't been seeking a means of escape because of it. Then, thanks to my little sister, my writing and my life found a breath of fresh air. Oh, and a little help from my friends never hurt either. I've learned, the hard way, that writing a "masterpiece" doesn't come easy, and while I'm not taking any courses to improve upon my skills I have taken some steps on my own.
I wasn't employing enough detail, and I also wasn't tying things together that should be which would tend to leave my readers confused and lost. I'm a slow learner, but I can see how far I've come from the first time that I sat down to write my first paragraph.
I'll leave you with an excerpt, and let you be the judge on how well I am or am not doing. Please do not reproduce this material in any way without my consent.

As far back as Dylan could remember, her grandmother had told her the same bedtime story; a story of dragons, sorcery, and a prophecy that had yet to be fulfilled. Her grandma had claimed that the story had been passed down through the generations of their maternal family history, and no matter how the history of the world played out this was where their world actually began.
